The Importance of Rest and Nature during menopause transition
Rest is such a key part of feeling good, especially during times of change like menopause. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget how much our body and mind need a real break. Rest isn’t just about sleep—it’s about giving yourself time to recharge and feel whole again.

When I was going through my menopause “crisis,” I realized how much I needed to slow down and reconnect with myself. Nature became my go-to for finding that calm I was craving. Spending even just an hour outdoors, whether it was a peaceful walk among the trees or sitting quietly in a park, made a huge difference. It helped clear my head, ease the stress, and left me feeling more grounded.
There’s something truly special about being surrounded by nature. The sound of leaves rustling, the smell of fresh air, and the feeling of grass underfoot—it’s like nature has this magical ability to remind us that we’re part of something bigger. It’s a space where you can just breathe and let everything else fade away for a little while.
Studies actually show that being in green spaces can lower blood pressure, reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol, and even boost your immune system. Exposure to natural environments has also been linked to improved mood, increased focus, and a greater sense of overall happiness. Trees, in particular, contribute to our well-being by expelling natural aromas called phytoncides. These organic compounds released by trees and plants have been shown to boost our immune system, reduce stress levels, and enhance our mood. Breathing in the fresh, earthy scent of the forest can have a calming effect, helping to clear our minds and promote overall health.
Menopause, or any big life shift, can leave you feeling a bit out of sorts—like you’re disconnected from yourself or your purpose. Taking time to rest and be in nature gives you a chance to reconnect, refocus, and find some balance again. It’s one of the simplest but most powerful ways to feel like yourself and move through transitions with a little more ease.
